Contract: Low-Speed Depth Control Performance
Provided mathematical modelling, simulation and performance analysis expertise to the Astute Class Nuclear Submarine design. In particular, performed a conceptual study of Astute’s performance in the low speed depth control regime. Created a Virtual Astute Submarine Model that included both hydrostatics and hydrodynamic characteristics. In addition, various virtual Man Machine Interfaces (MMI) were created and used to control the simulation. The simulation output guided the low speed regime design decisions. The simulation and MMI were developed in the Simulink environment.
