Client: Marconi Electronic Systems
Contract: Transmitter Software Verification
Provided support to the Nemesis DIRCM design verification testing. This involved the use of an electro-mechanical simulation of the system with embedded control algorithms to verify the implementation of the DIRCM embedded algorithms. The simulation also permitted virtual performance testing and system debugging facilities.
The AN/AAQ-24 (V) NEMESIS system protects fixed-wing transport aircraft and small rotary-wing aircraft from the infrared missile threat. The NEMESIS systems detects a missile launch, determines it’s threat level, warns the aircrew, and activates its high-power countermeasure transmitter to track and defeat the threat. The flexible design incorporates an optical path that permits the insertion of an all-band laser when one is developed.
